Discord Bot

The Very Discord Bot helps Discord server administrators verify their members by linking their Discord accounts with their Very accounts. Once verified, members automatically receive access roles and can participate in your server.

Getting Started

Step 1: Add the Bot to Your Server

Click the button below to invite the Very Discord Bot to your server:

Invite Very Discord Bot

The bot requires the following permissions:

  • Send Messages

  • Manage Roles

  • Read Messages/View Channels

  • Use Slash Commands

Step 2: Set Up Verification

Once the bot is in your server, you'll need to configure it. First, make sure you have:

  1. A verified role created in your server (this role will be assigned to verified members)

  2. A channel where you want the verification button to appear (typically a welcome or verification channel)

Then, use the /setup-palm-verify-button command:

/setup-palm-verify-button verification-channel:#welcome verified-role:@Verified

Required Parameters:

  • verification-channel: The channel where the verification button will be posted

  • verified-role: The role to assign after successful verification

Optional Parameters:

  • embed-title: Custom title for the verification message (default: "Get verified")

  • embed-description: Custom description text

  • log-channel: Channel to log verification activities

  • embed-color: Hex color for the embed message (e.g., af2626)

Step 3: Members Verify

Once set up, members can:

  1. Click the verification button in the configured channel

  2. Click the verification link they receive via ephemeral messages in the same channel

  3. Authorize with their Very account

  4. Automatically receive the verified role

That's it! The bot handles everything automatically.

Commands

/setup-palm-verify-button

Important Notes

Role Hierarchy

Make sure the bot's role in your server is higher than the verified role you want it to assign. You can adjust role positions in Server Settings > Roles.

Verification Sessions

Verification links expire after 15 minutes for security. If a link expires, members can simply click the verification button again to get a new link.

Troubleshooting

Bot Not Responding

  • Make sure the bot is online (check the member list)

  • Verify the bot has the required permissions

  • Try using the command again (Discord commands can take a moment to register)

Verification Not Working

  • Check that the bot's role is above the verified role in the role hierarchy

  • Ensure the bot has "Manage Roles" permission

  • Verify that the verification button was set up correctly using /setup-palm-verify-button

Role Not Being Assigned

  • Check the role hierarchy (bot's role must be above the verified role)

  • Verify the bot has "Manage Roles" permission

  • Make sure the role isn't managed by another integration
